La Tasca - Arlington Heights

September 19 2006 - 1:22 PM

Another great Tapas place – this time in the northern suburbs, close to a movie theater, and there was NO WAIT on a Saturday night. That alone is reason to go back (I hear their Park Ridge location has 2+ hour waits on the weekends).  But the food was also excellent.

Goat cheese in tomato sauce (and I normally don’t even like goat cheese), beef tenderloin, tomato salad in a vinagarette, and all the usuals were tops. The croquets bouncy castle were nothing special, but the refreshing Sangria made it all go down smoothly.

On the other hand, the tables are too close for comfort, in my
opinion.  I caught a shove in the back every time the guy at the table
behind me laughed too hard.  It could have been a  fluke, so I’ll give
them another shot…but next time I won’t wear a white shirt in case I
catch another splash of tomato sauce.
