NYE 2013 Restaurant Picks

December 24 2013 - 9:00 AM

New Years Eve is usually all about the alcohol…but what about the food? A great meal is the perfect way to ring in the new year. Whether you’re still searching for the perfect spot or just want to salivate over these dining choices, you’ll want to check out our list below of the New Years Eve dinners you can’t miss this year.

The Classy Soiree: Travelle
Travelle is hosting a black and white 3 or 5 course dinner gala, complete with masks and a black and white menu items (think black truffle crusted sea bass). This isn’t a cheap dinner but it will be elegant, just like the restaurant itself (see photo above).

The Gluten-Free Standout: Senza
This Lakeview newcomer has blown away skeptics with its sophisticated tasting menu. With so many people adopting the gluten-free lifestyle, Senza offers the perfect solution – a 7 course meal complete with champagne toast.

The BYOB  Saviors: Chilam Balam & Shaman
We all know alcohol is the most expensive part of any night out. It’s easy to forget on New Years that there is an easy solution for this. BYOB! Both Chilam Balam and its sister restaurant, Shaman, are offering something different on New Years Eve – reservations. While they do offer set menus, they’ll be accommodating for dietary restrictions, which is unusual for NYE. You’ll still get the affordable meal you had in mind by bringing along your own bottle of bubbly.

The Newcomer You Can’t Wait to Meet: Dusek’s Board & Beer
New Years is as good a time as any to check out the new Pilsen hotspot, and you won’t be disappointed. The set menu is as innovative as the regular one. Plus, you’ll have access to Punch House for the dance party afterwards. If you don’t make it for dinner, I highly recommend checking out their New Years Day brunch.

The Pig Roast: Country Barbeque
Yep, this is exactly what is sounds like. DMK Burger’s new spot on Taylor street is having an actual pig roast complete with bottomless bacon, eggs, brisket and an open bar. For only $60, we’re there.
