Coffee and Beer Unite!

Peanut butter and chocolate, milk and cookies, coffee and beer. Some things are just meant to go together. Lakeview craft brewery, DryHop, is helping make one of those combinations possible, and no, it’s not milk and cookies. The first DryHop Brewers/Intelligentsia collaboration will debut this Wednesday, November 13 at 6pm. Dubbed “My Mirrors Are Black”, the cuban coffee stout is brewed with Chicago roaster Intelligentsia’s Yirgacheffe Ethiopia blend, guava, blueberry and candi sugar, helping it reach a respectable 5.5% ABV.

Not only will the two Lakeview neighbors collaborate on a beer (Intelligentsia is just a few doors down from DryHop), there will also be a coffee bar in DryHop’s brewhouse from 6pm-10pm on Wednesday. Stop by for a chance to try the Yirgacheffe Ethiopia blend. If you’re a coffee beer fan, there will be four additional beers available as a flight:

  • Allagash Coffee Curieux, a Belgian Tripel oak aged with coffee (9.5% ABC)
  • Founder’s Breakfast Stout brewed with oats, chocolates and Sumatra and Kona coffee (8.3% ABC)
  • Left Hand Week Sauce Coffee Porter (6.0% ABV)
  • Stone Espresso Imperial Russian Stout (IRS) with notes of anise, black currants, coffee, and roastiness (10.6% ABV)
