534305_619453768099141_1064782176_nWhoa! It’s already been a year, but Craft Spirits Week Chicago is back for a second installment. The world of independent distilleries is growing faster than ever and this is your chance to get out and sample some of the creativity being cooked up by the newest generation of spirit makers.

Coordinated by local crafters North Shore Distillery with assistance from FEW and Koval, Craft Spirits Week is seven days of booze heaven. All around Chicago you will be able to taste liquors and liqueurs of every stripe and in every form as restaurants and bars host tastings, cocktails and dinners. These events range from personal tastings with the gals and guys who run the stills, to elaborate restaurant take-overs with bespoke cocktails for the evening.

Are you in a shot and a beer mood? Delilah’s and Jerry’s are hosting dueling “Whisky Wins” parties on Tuesday. Or, if you prefer your bourbon with a burlesque chaser, Few will be at the Everleigh Social Club on Monday celebrating steam punk, whisky and gin in equal measure.

Those wooed by tequila and tacos should seek out Masa Azul’s “Agave Answers it All” on Tuesday, while the Roaring 20’s lovers can sit down for a “Pop-up Speakeasy” with live Jazz at Autre Monde on Thursday.

And don’t forget to pick up your tickets to the main event. The Independent Sprits Expo on Wednesday will feature hundreds of different products to sample with distillers and ambassadors on hand to answer questions and introduce you to something new.

The full schedule is available on the Craft Spirits Week website and continues to be updated and expanded as events debut, so check it out for the most up-to-date information. In the meantime, here are some Chicago Foodies picks!
