Summer is winding down – for real this time – but it’ll never be too cold for ice cream, right?! Before fall truly sets in, get your ice cream maker back out and churn up some homemade ice cream. Chocolate chip cookie dough was always my favorite, but I rarely ordered it because there was just never enough cookie dough. I’d save the cookie dough for the end and get stuck with a lot of plain, boring vanilla ice cream.
I took matters into my own hands and made some cookie dough ice cream, heavy on the cookie dough. Really heavy. It’s egg free and completely safe to eat. I like my sweets on the salty side, so I also added in some dark chocolate covered pretzel thins as well. I would highly recommend making this ice cream for an event, or at least for some friends, or you will likely eat all of it in one sitting.
