Dining Out For Life

April 24 2013 - 1:00 PM

On Thursday, April 25th,  join others across America dining out for a great cause. How do you get involved? Simply dine out! Dining Out For Life is produced in 60 cities across the United States, with each city donating restaurant proceeds to the licensed AIDS service agency in their city. Dining Out For Life is in its 20th year and remains the largest fundraiser for HIV/AIDS in North America.

Chicago is once again a participating city, allowing locals the opportunity to visit one of over 70 participating restaurants who are donating a portion of their day’s proceeds to Edge Alliance. Edge Alliance was founded 20 years ago to provide housing and life progress services to assist individual and families diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. With donations, they have constructed a campus in the North Lawndale community consisting of two family-focused apartment complexes and one for single women and men.

Participating restaurants include Longman & Eagle, Sable Kitchen & Bar, Sola and Magnolia Cafe. Additionally, 13 of North Halsted’s restaurants are participating including  Hearty, Taverna 750, Wood and HB Home Bistro, with many donating one-third of the day’s profits.

You probably wouldn’t mind skipping meal prep one night of the week, so why not try a new restaurant or bar in the city and feel good about where your money is going! Check out Dining Out For Life’s website for more information about the event, as well as a full list of participating restaurants in Chicago.
