Meet Growing Power at Sepia's Green City Market Fundraiser

March 23 2012 - 12:17 PM

Growing Power StaffIf you've had the chance to talk to any of the Growing Power representatives at your local farmer's market, you know all about their mission to develop healthy food systems in diverse communities. They're much more than just a garden; they have a broad reach that hopes to improve people's lives beginning with the food they eat.

On Wednesday, March 28, Sepia restaurant and the Green City Market Junior Board will host Growing Power's project manager, Erika Allen (daughter of Growing Power founder Will Allen) for a multi-course dinner celebrating the bounty of produce that this early spring has yielded. Chef Andrew Zimmerman has sourced the ingredients from Green City Market vendors, including Growing Power, Genesis Growers, and Seedling Farms.

The evening begins at 6:30 with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails by Sepia's mixologist Josh Pearson, and then continues with a five-course seated dinner. The evening costs $115, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Green City Market. For a full menu, as well as instructions for how to RSVP, visit the Green City Market Junior Board's website.
