Craft Beer Week: Thursday Kickoff
The event I've been waiting for is finally on the horizon. Craft beer week begins Thursday, May 19 with a kickoff party hosted by the Garfield Park Conservatory. There are also other events to check out tomorrow evening.
Local restaurants will serve small plates to compliment the 25 breweries offering up their finest beers. The event is $50 at the door. All guests will receive a passport upon entry. The passport is your ticket into exclusive events and tastings.
Go to Garfield Park tomorrow from 5 – 9 p.m. to experience great beers and food.
Located at 300 North Central Park Avenue.
Small Bar will host a Half Acre and Two Brothers event. The will feature Half Acre's Gossamer and Two Brother's Cane and Eble beers on tap. They will also have a special tap selection including Half Acre Meat Wave English IPA and Two Brothers Askew Sour Ale.
The event is free with a passport.
Located at 2956 North Albany.
Prairie Moon Restaurant in Evanston:
The Home-brewers Association is hosting their monthly event and are inviting craft beer lovers to attend. From 7 – 10 p.m. guests can sample home-crafted beers, talk about brewing techniques, and enjoy the company of fellow beer lovers.

Attend the Rooftop Party at ZED451 and enjoy a keg full of Goose Island Fleur. The event lasts from 4 – 11 p.m. If the weather holds up (gets better) this could be a great way to kick off the weekend.
