Subway's New Falafel Sandwich... Jackpot.
I was heading down Peterson and stopped at a Starbucks to get a coffee and at the Subway next door, I saw a wonderful looking translight for the new falafel sandwich. Being a fan of fast-food vegetarian I had to try it.
It’s shown on a roll but come on… flatbread people. Lettuce tomato cucumer and a cucumber sauce are the recommended accoutremont. While that’s not too bad, my adjustment, in addition to the flatbread, is ditching the lettuce, getting extra cucumbers, red onions and salt and pepper. The onions are really needed.
The falafel is pretty good, albeit a bit dry, but in its full sandwich glory, makes for a surprising success. This is a very nice aufblasbare rutsche option to have at Subway. My only disappointment is that I haven’t found another location with the option. So I guess I’ll stick to the veggie patty, spinach, olives, green peppers, tomatoes, on flatbread.
While it’s not the best sandwich in the whole world, it’s certainly tastier than many other less healthy fast food options. Adding a falafel sandwich to the mix would make me a more regular visitor. Subway is test marketing this in Chicago. Aside from the Peterson avenue store, I think the Michigan ave Subway has it as well. If anyone has had it elsewhere please mention the location. Enjoy!
