They Seriously Just Banned the Happy Meal

That’s right. The county of Santa Clara just approved an ordinance that prevents restaurants from including toys in meals that are high in fat, sugar and calories.
“This ordinance breaks the
link between unhealthy food and prizes,” said Supervisor Ken Yeager,
who sponsored the initiative. Yeager said it is unfair to parents and
children to use toys to capture the tastes of children when they’re
young and “to get them hooked on eating high-sugar, high-fat foods
early in life.”
Only in California. Taking the children’s toys away…
I can see the tie-ins now. The Avatar Inflatable Water Slide fruit salad. The Barbie Diet Plate… what else? Uh, the Shrek Big Green Veggie Burger… help out folks!
