The Salon Series: Alex Menocal

April 06 2010 - 12:25 PM

Sushi might be really, really, good-looking (Zoolander) but it's probably not art. I know you could argue about it until you're done with your mochi ice cream but likely the common ground is that art is good with food.

Enter "The Salon Series". They invite an artist to display work in a restaurant, BlueBird (1749 North Damen Avenue) and have a multi-course meal in the process.  The featured artist this month is Alex Menocal. He's focusing on geometric tape paintings. Check out his website here.

See Alex and his work April 11th and the 25th at 7pm.
Tickets are $40.
