Sweets and Savories
For anyone dieting before the holidays who, like me, try to preserve some sanity in the process with one, big fat “cheating” meal a week to take the edge off - I’ve got the perfect one for you. You can find it at Sweets and Savories on Fullerton and you can find it for half price on Wednesday nights (10 dollars down from 20 dollars).
What you’ll find is a beautifully hand packed pound of Kobe beef served medium rare, topped with duck liver pate, topped with truffle mayo and lovingly placed on a slightly toasted and buttered brioche bun. Oh yeah, I think there were some greens on it too. What to order with it is a side of crispy French fries cooked in rendered duck fat and served with a smoky tomato chutney. Top that off with a beer or glass of wine and a home-made pastry of your choice and you’ve got yourself the most delicious, most indulgent meal worthy of blowing your diet.
They have plenty of other stuff on the menu but with the $10 burger offer, come on?

My boyfriend and his family went to Sweets and Savories last winter.... I must say I was a little worried (being a strict vegetarian) that there wouldn't be anything for me to eat. The chef made a special vegetarian risotto dish for me (not on the menu) that was out of this world! I can't wait to go back. Service was great too...
