Cole Slaw Failure

May 31 2005 - 4:58 PM

This is a recipe to help us remember how NOT to make cole slaw.

I set out trying to make a tangy vinegar based cole slaw stretching a bit of an asian flavor into a sweetened insuflaveis tangy crisp slaw. Oh well. While I do like creamy slaws I also like vinegar based slaw. I just used too much vinegar.

1 cup of white wine vinegar
3/.4 cup of sugar
3 tbsp of soy
1/2 red cabbage
1/2 green cabbage
2 apples
4 carrots
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp mustard seed
1 tsp ginger
2 tbsp mayo
4 twists of pepper

I brought the vinegar, soy, sugar to a boil and poured over the cabbage
only adding the apple and carrots after it cooled then drained the
excess liquid and added the seasonings…

let’s just say toooooooo acidic. This is not a recipe to follow. Learn from it and don’t do it!
